Local Community Sponsorship

Sport and community events are fundamental to the country lifestyle! At West Gippsland Vet Care, we love caring for our community – and as part of that, we actively support sporting teams from Warragul, Drouin, Ellibank, Hallora, Yarragon and Trafalgar. We are proud to get behind local events as well, with sponsorships for the Warragul Show, Neerim Show, and Central Gippsland Jersey Club Fair to name a few!

Annual Farm Cat Desexing Program

We love cats! However, we are also very mindful of the enormous impact on our native wildlife due to the large number of feral cats in Australia.
Farm cats contribute to this problem as they are often left to reproduce freely and are in areas where they have easy access to wildlife.
During the month of June, farmers can access heavily discounted desexing for their cats.

Indigenous Dog Health

In 2015, WGVC joined our friends from The Canberra Mob to provide animal healthcare to remote Indigenous communities in Utopia, north of Alice Springs.

Twice a year we send a Vet and a Nurse to join a team who travel through these communities to desex and provide parasite protection to as many dogs and cats as possible.

It has been a very rewarding experience for all who have participated so far and we hope to continue making these trips to provide the care needed.

You can help the Indigenous Dog Health Program continue this important work through donations or purchases of Indigenous art collected from the communities we visit.

Friendly Dog Collars

Friendly Dog Collars is a unique company based out of the UK and created by Jonathon Saville. This company began in 2007 with the idea in mind that not all dogs (or people) can be judged by their looks.  Jon owned many dogs over the years, but it wasn’t until he got Roxy, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, that the idea for Friendly Dog Collars came to him.

“Very happy with my visit”

I usually go to the Drouin vet office, as it is closer to my home. However, Drouin was booked out, so I went to the Warragul office instead. Making the booking was quick and easy over the phone and, upon arriving, I was greeted straight away. The office was nice and clean, with no unpleasant smells. My wait time was about 2 minutes, which is great. The lady who saw Tequila and I was quite young, but seemed to know her stuff and was very friendly. Overall, very happy with my visit. 🙂
